Hitch’s fave of his own films. LOVE the opening in Jersey City. Looking forward to your in depth look. Not a shadow of a doubt that it will be engrossing and entertaining!
Of course, even as a great film, every time I read the words “Uncle Charlie” I see William Demarest in My Three Sons, or even funnier, his painful-looking pratfalls in The Miracle of Morgan’s Creek or worse, his over the top performance with Joan Blondell in that icky Twilight Zone episode “What’s in the Box?” where they both beat the heck out of each other in one of the less effective episodes.
SUCH a good film. Joseph Cotten was the perfect casting choice.
